My hands shake
as they rest upon my chest,
A prayer, a plea, a hope for peaceful rest.
And in that moment,
I hear your voice so clear,
Singing sweetly,
"Hello, my child, my dear."
Your love shines bright within your loving gaze,
Like fresh-baked bread,
it fills me with a daze,
Small gestures that have made me grow and age,
"Hello, son,"
your words a guiding sage.
Oh, never has a moment
brought such harmony, I wish to keep it safe in a box,
for eternity,
"Hello, my child," I close my eyes and see,
You always knew just
what to say to comfort me.
With a warm embrace, the rain would cease to pour,
And time has flown since then,
so much has been in store,
But through it all,
I see you cry with joy and grace,
"Hello, father,"
my heart sings out in embrace.
