This Is Mine

This is mine;
a restless soul that within resides,
to question what exists beyond the horizon.
Where the gaze does not reach
and time hides.
This is mine;
these trembling hands in fear,
to question life,
even if I'm not truly alive.
This is mine;
the desire for an unreachable shore.
To wait at the crossroads,
even without knowing what I'm waiting for.
This is mine;
a discontented contentment.
To know what I know,
and yet pretend
that it hadn't filled me with resentment.
This is mine;
a wide smile on a blank face.
To care about everything 
and nothing,
and do it with such grace.
This is me and that is fine;
to count the hours, minutes, and seconds I stay,
knowing that life will quickly take away,
your world and mine.
This is;
my insanity while sane…
To fall without knowing I fall,
only to stand up again.
